“A blog? But what for?”
Because I feel like it, quite simply. I want to have a place where I can share things, whether it’s the current obsession with searching for a lost media, my learning of a programming language or a framework, a personal project I’m proud of… It doesn’t matter.
“Everything has already been said, and ChatGPT can explain anything to me”
This blog is my logbook, and I will publish whatever I want, however I want, whenever I want, and for whoever wants to read me. My goal is neither recognition (I have no analytics system in place) nor to change the world. Just to bring a little humanity to an impersonal world.
Let it be clear: All texts published here are the fruit of my labor, not that of an LLM. The only exception is translation from French to English, which I review afterward anyway.
“What to talk about?”
I already know I’d like to talk about certain topics:
- Reducing the cold start of a Python service on Google Cloud Run
- Creating applications with GTK
- Coding your 3D models with OpenSCAD, BOSL2, and SolidPython2
- Something about intellectual property
- Contributing to open-source: A beginner’s survival guide
- Extracting hardcoded fansub subtitles from anime not re-released in VOSTFR
- Building complex and maintainable UIs with GTK: Why XML/BLP templates are unsuitable, and how a Python DSL makes my life better
- Docker compose, Daenes, and Portalias: My solutions for simple addresses on self-hosted services
- AI, and then what? I predict we’ll rediscover software engineering…
- JPEG compression explained with my cat
Will I talk about all of this? No, probably not everything. Will I talk about other things? Yes, very likely.
Publishing a topic here is very strongly correlated with the motivation I gain after a conversation with colleagues, friends, or family.
If you feel like reading me, then welcome!
